Can an audio-only recording be synchronized with a transcript?
Yes, an audio-only recording can be synchronized with a transcript. Court reporters often use a high-quality table microphone to capture proceedings and then provide both the transcript and the audio.
While the audio quality may not be as precise as individual lavalier microphones for each speaker, it is sufficient for approximate synchronization. This allows the court reporter to deliver a CD with the synchronized transcript and audio, which can be played automatically in the Synchronizer for the attorney.
